After 4 months (119 days), 10 countries and 11,900km, the 2009 Tour d'Afrique has finally come to an end.
The bicycle race/expedition from Cairo to Capetown is a unique athletic event which helps raise funds for environmental protection and promote bicycles use in Africa.
Lonely Planet had a team of 16 in this expedition and although I wasn't lucky enough to go to Africa, I was the team co-ordinator who managed many aspects of the LP team.
